In selling yourself as a trusted expert for high fees, you are essentially, asking somebody to act in ways they do not ordinarily and customarily act – such as hiring experts at all or paying fees that seem obscenely high or unaffordable to them, paying in advance for hoped for but never guaranteed results, trusting an individual they may barely know, and being decisive. On top of that, you may want that client to conduct business on your terms, in ways that are foreign and seem inconvenient to him. Then, as you actually work with your client, you may ask him to accept ideas foreign to him or contradictory to his long-held beliefs. When you consider all that in whole, it would seem an insurmountable barrier to success. It can’t be taken lightly. You need to recognize what you are up against. Who should invest? If not disqualified by the above cautions, then…. Anyone selling high-dollar personal/professional services. That would include consultants, but also investment advisors, lawyers, doctors, cosmetic surgeons. If you have a “client relationship” and need to persuade clients to trust you, give you large sums of money, and you need to exercise dominant and complete control over those clients, this is for you. If you sit across table or desk from a prospective client, converse on the phone with clients, or stand on a stage in front of clients and ask for $10,000.00, $30,000.00, $100,000.00 or $1,000,000.00, then you must hear what was taught at this seminar. If you are in or aspire to make a very large income from coaching, running coaching groups, and/or one-on-one or corporate consulting, you must invest in this program. And, incidentally, this has to do not just with selling coaching programs, but with keeping people in them, satisfied, productive….for as long as you like. As example, one speaker/consultant in a particular field started his coaching business only 3 years ago following one of my plans, did $400,000.00 his first year, $1.6-million his 3rd year, but works less for the $1.6-million than he did for the $400,000.00. None of this is “freakish” nor does it require some kind of extraordinary or exceptional talent, genetic gifts, or years of disciplined preparation. I have taken quite a few people from “zero” to $1-million and more in yearly coaching income their first or 2nd year. You can ask people like Dr. Tom Orent, Scott Tucker, Rory Fatt, Steve Miller, Bill and Steve Harrison, even Jack Canfield, co-author of ‘Chicken Soup For The Soul’ how they like the coaching income they’ve created following my business models. And I am even now helping complete “fledglings” create coaching groups at the local, grassroots, community level, yielding $25,000.00 to $100,000.00 a year and up, spare time. Every consultant, speaker, author or other expert ought to be in the coaching business using one of my business models. What Does This Cost?It cost me a damned fortune to master. Ironically, at the peak of my powers, I am no longer interested in exploiting them. But I paid plenty to develop them. So you shouldn’t expect me to be shy about my asking price. I should, I suppose, remind you, as briefly as I can, of “my credentials.” I have never made less than $100,000.00 from consulting (broadly defined*) since I started, in 1978. I have made as much as $5-million in a year, consulting (again, broadly defined.*) In 2005-2006, I turned away over $1-million in business. In coaching, I virtually invented many of the current coaching business models, and I have put countless people with zero background into lucrative coaching businesses. (Some credit me, some don’t.) Last year, my clients, who I work with hands-on, did well over $150-million in coaching. In short, I know how to get people to pay big fees for coaching and consulting. Like no one else does. To take someone in hand personally and guide them from ground-zero to making a 7-figure income in these fields, including use of my most advanced strategies, can involve fees and royalties in excess of $200,000.00. By that standard, or by comparison to the return on the investment you should reap, the cost of these recordings is trivial. By some standards, this course is abominably expensive to purchase. It’s not the most expensive course I offer, but it’s up there. That is so, for several reasons. I do NOT get people to fly to me…to pay me from tens of thousands to $100,000.00 and up to, in some cases, $1-million and up to consult, coach and write copy for them…to do business entirely on my unorthodox terms…to treat me with kid gloves so as not to be refused or banished…because of my multiple MBA’s from prestigious universities (I have none), or my marble-encrusted penthouse office (I have no office) or my custom tailored Armani suit-gold-Rolex-manicured-polished personal presentation (I dress casually) or my high-powered sales representatives (I employ none). I get people standing in line, waiting for months, to finally speak with me, meet with me, and hand over gigantic fees because of the techniques I revealed in this seminar.
What is that worth? I have no idea how you might value it. The fee to attend the live event was $11,800.00. How to start from zero in a niche or market even if you have no “herd.” And I conducted “live interviews” with a number of people who are taking different approaches to coaching businesses, all making gobs ‘n gobs of money. I say all that not as arrogant ego stroking. If you know me at all, you should know I’m far from egotistical, and have no need to stand atop the hill shouting “look at me.” In fact, I prefer privacy and quiet. I am simply stating facts. I know exactly how to get anybody, Fortune 500 CEO or small shopkeeper, man or woman, young or old, one or group, to hand over whatever fees I ask. And I can break it down into formulas, steps, processes, even scripts. It’s all learnable. What I do is replicatable. Mostly formulaic. So, specific to the coaching business, I revealed how to move someone from having zero thoughts about finding a coach or being in a group to jumping through flaming hoops, wallet clenched in teeth, to be permitted to join. I know exactly what it takes to do this. In the 1980’s, I helped one company selling a $30,000.00 coaching program to chiropractors completely revamp its marketing and do as much business in 12 months as it had the previous 36. I helped another consultant switch from signing up an average of 3 new clients a month to 15 a week. I literally put people in the coaching business, each bringing in over a million dollars a year, who couldn’t spell ‘coach’ before I conceived their programs for them. I know how to do this from the “grass roots” perspective, on the ground, in a community, with local small businesspeople. I know how to do it on a global playing field, with tele-seminars and other media. Niched, not niched. Specific to the consulting business, whether with corporate or entrepreneurial clients, you will learn how to attract them, have them begging you to be accepted as clients, pay you fees that shock them, and how to keep them. My first corporate consulting client was 27 or 28 years ago, a small agricultural products firm that intended on hiring me for one small assignment, for $3,000.00. Some $60,000.00 later, I was still there. I’ve had some big corporate clients although I prefer entrepreneurial ones; Mass Mutual Insurance, Weight Watchers International, Amway Corporation, AEON, and several I cannot mention due to confidentiality considerations. As a consultant/copywriter I get more money from one client’s project than most of the top copywriters whose names you know make in 6 months. I know how to create white-hot lust on a prospective client’s part for my assistance. And it is learnable. Oh, and most of this applies to consultative-style selling of services or goods other than actual consulting services, as I’ll show you. You know, there are a lot of ways to make more money, in coaching, consulting or consultative selling of other services. One is to attract more prospective clients but change nothing else. More “deal flow” usually creates more income. You could improve your closing ratio, so you have to talk with fewer prospective clients to fill your book. You could do both and be able to raise fees. Or target bigger/better clients worth more in fees or other compensation. Or exercise much greater control over clients, so you keep them, expand assignments, secure more work from them at much higher fees. Why not do ALL these things? And do them masterfully?
